REAL-TIME ANALYSIS OF THE SERVICE LIFE OF YOUR MEDIA AND DRIVES
This tool will enable you, at a glance, to obtain the answer to four crucial questions:
- How can I prevent a backup accident?
- When do I need to change my media to ensure my data are not compromised?
- Do the drives in my library always work as well as they should?
- Is data migration from one type of media to another necessary?
StorSentry™ lets you define the predictive errors: level of control and take over on reaching thresholds relative to abnormal operation, component age or error level criteria.
This gives you the following media information:
- Reaching the predefined age or utilization limit for the cartridges
- Reaching the predefined cartridge error threshold
- Complete inventory of your cartridges
- Number of mounts
- Length of use
- Average error rate in read/write
- Degradation rate in read/write
- Frequency of use
PREVENTION
The statistical analysis tool will then simulate the acceleration of the media degradation.
DECISION SUPPORT
Thanks to all these elements you will be able to determine the error contributors (drive/cartridge) and plan data migrations to new media. The intuitive interface allows access to the complete history of your media and drives, along with operating quality indices.
StorSentry is easy to install. This unobtrusive software is installed on the server controlling your backup solutions. It then collects all the backup information. No changes to your system are required.
